2012 South Metro Development Outlook

South Metro Development Outlook is an annual event that has been hosted by The Collaborative Firm, since 2003 for the purpose of convening professionals with an interest in fostering smart growth in South Metropolitan Atlanta. The conference includes the following seven south metro counties, Clayton, Coweta, Douglas, Fayette, Henry and South Fulton, as well as the City of Atlanta. Each year, the forum continues to grow in participation and content and has attracted over 5,500 attendees since its inception.

Program participants are comprised of industry experts and elected officials that have a vested interest in the region. Some of the conference speakers have including Ed Baker, Publisher, Atlanta Business Chronicle; Eldrin Bell, Chairman, Clayton County Board of Commissioners; Mark Butler, Commissioner, Georgia Department of Labor; Chris Clark, President and Chief Executive Officer, Georgia Chamber of Commerce; Todd Long, P.E., Director of Planning, Georgia Department of Transportation; Louis Miller, Aviation General Manager, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport; Michael Paris, President & Chief Executive Officer, Council for Quality Growth; Kasim Reed, Mayor, City of Atlanta; and Roger Tutterow, Ph.D., Professor of Economics, Mercer University.

This year, South Metro Development Outlook will focus on critical topics relevant to the changing economy and continued growth of the region. During the general sessions, noted experts will provide valuable insight on current and future economic and development trends, the regional Transportation SPLOST, and the economic development opportunities presented through expansion of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and the Savannah Port. In addition, the forum will include presentations on current market trends, sustainability initiatives and the impacts of higher education on growth in South Metro.
